Special Sessions provide the opportunity to focus in detail on particular topics of interest for IWSSIP. They represent specific working fields where researchers can meet and discuss advances relevant to the conference.

Proposal Requirements

A proposal for a Special Session must include the following information:

The General Organizing Committee will support the Special Session organizers by sending a general call for papers to the IWSSIP mailing list. Dedicated special session calls will not be launched — the organizers are responsible for publicizing their own session and attracting sufficient submissions. The expected number of papers per Special Session is 4 to 6.

Submission Process

Special Session proposals must be submitted in PDF format to Iwssip2026@um.si with email subject: “IWSSIP 2026: Proposal for a Special Session”.

Deadline for special session proposals: March 15, 2026

Paper Review and Publication

Papers submitted to Special Sessions follow the regular conference paper template and page limit. They undergo the same review process as regular papers. Special Session organizers are responsible for organizing the review process for their session, including inviting and assigning reviewers.

Restrictions

During the review process, Special Session organizers must take into account:

If a Special Session does not gather enough accepted papers, those papers may be moved to the regular sessions at the discretion of the organizers.

Registration

All participants in Special Sessions, including organizers and presenters, must register for the conference and pay the applicable registration fees.
